sometimes i get tired of not being told what i want to hear.
i know people tell me what i SHOULD hear, what is ultimately "best" for me, and they do it because they love me, and because they care about me. but sometimes i want to believe that the impossible is possible. sometimes that's the only thing that gets me through a bad day. i guess i'm tired of people being skeptical about what i want. aren't i allowed to want something without people left and right telling me that "realistically, that probably won't happen." i can't help how i feel, and i can't help what i want. as a person, aren't i supposed to have some idea of what will make me happy? yeah, that's right. ME. some might say, well, maybe you're wrong about what will make you happy. and to that i say, so fucking what. so i'm wrong. atleast i will have tried, and atleast i allowed myself to wish for something no matter how impossible or "unrealistic" it may have been. yes, i may get hurt. yes, i may be crushed. but atleast i won't look back however many years later, wishing i had just tried.
it's not like i want people to have to put on an act around me and say things they don't feel. and it's not that i don't appreciate all the people that care about me and don't want to see me get hurt. trust me, i really appreciate it all, and i feel very blessed to have those kind of people around me. i guess what i'm trying to say is that i feel like all i've been getting lately is... "well, realistically..."
just let me be a little unrealistic for a while so i can see where it takes me.

but can i please talk about how beautifully amazing this city is during the holiday season? i'm going to anyways. all the trees in the boston common have lights in them, the frog pond is now an ice skating rink, the hyatt has red and green lights all over it, and just everywhere is decked out in christmas stuff. i love it. if you've never been to boston, you seriously need to get your booty over here because it honestly my favorite city in the whole wide world. (well besides ROC of course!)
with that said, i'll miss boston dearly, but
I CANNOT WAIT TO COME HOME!!

i read the front section of the boston globe everyday in my favorite spot of the boston common
i can navigate the T like a pro, and not fall over when it lurches to a stop
i work out almost everyday. i've even lost a little bit of weight i think.
i love walking to classes and seeing the boston skyline right down the street.
i take notes, i pay attention, i do my homework, and i feel like i'm actually learning new things for the first time in a while.
my friends here are fantastic. i'm getting my belly button pierced on friday. i have a crush.
i'm pledging a sorority in the spring.
coming back on the T from tufts and seeing the boston skyline and the sailboats on the charles river, i got goosebumps knowing that this is the city that i live in and that's what i was going home to.
all in all, i love college, i love boston, and i feel like for once, my life is actually going in the direction that i want it to.
